these colors were so divine... i loove purples, blues and cyan together. it always reminds me of the northern lights. so that's the direction i decided to go with this after working on it a little while.

i used a lot of the photo filter effect in Photoshop, just adding several layers of blue-ish shades over the image.

i also used a good bit of burning and dodging on the background, to bring out highlights of the grass and sky. i darkened the mountains so they would stand out.

overall, this piece was a lot of fun ^_^

Awh, that's really pretty! :) I love the bluey purple tones, those feathers, mane and tail are lush and of course the fact that it depicts the aurora borealis (cause they are beautiful!). There's just one little thing, if I might add?

It's just a mini one, in that over the back of the horse and his nose the outline is a little sharp, might try to soften it out with the blur brush, have it blend in a little more. Other than that it looks really good! :D
